Location: Ireland
Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

An established international manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong purchasing background within a manufacturing environment who enjoys building supplier relationships, driving cost savings and ensuring continuity of supply across a fast-paced operation.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management

  • Manage supplier accounts, including RFQs, purchase order placement, expediting and supplier follow-up
  • Resolve supplier non-conformances and manage returns where required
  • Coordinate inbound logistics with suppliers
  • Review Incoterms to identify opportunities to improve cost, delivery performance and reduce risk
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to support production requirements
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers and alternative components to improve resilience and reduce costs
  • Support dual sourcing initiatives for key components
  • Assist with supplier audits and benchmarking activities
  • Monitor supply risks, price changes and potential disruptions, including those driven by global market conditions

Procurement & Supply Chain

  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules
  • Participate in production planning and scheduling meetings
  • Provide regular supplier updates to internal stakeholders
  • Proactively communicate supply issues and recommend solutions
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement
  • Support the introduction of new suppliers and components

ERP & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system
  • Review purchasing requirements daily and ensure timely order placement
  • Keep supplier delivery information up to date
  • Resolve system data issues and maintain data integrity
  • Communicate component obsolescence and alternative sourcing options to relevant departments

Continuous Improvement

  • Support procurement and wider business improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and operational efficiency
  • Assist with procurement reporting, KPIs and performance metrics

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 3-5 years’ purchasing experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Experience managing purchase orders, supplier performance and material availability
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Strong ERP system experience
  • Fluent English
  • IPICS qualification or training would be advantageous but is not essential
